Kitchen & Baths

Our average kitchen remodel lasts between five and six weeks, from the day of demo up to the last final inspection and punch list items.

All materials are pre-ordered to ensure a smooth and constant flow of work. During the kitchen remodel process, we are working in the home almost every day with the exception of when we are awaiting inspections.

Our Process

Week one of the kitchen remodel process starts off with demo, rough plumbing and electrical changes and any framing or window/door changes.
The second week typically consists of plumbing, electrical and building inspections. After all inspections are passed, sheetrocking and spackling commence.
The third week involves painting and flooring installation.
During the fourth week the cabinetry is delivered and installed and the countertop templates are made. Trim is installed and the electrician returns to finish the job and the painter returns to paint the trim.
During the fifth week the counter tops are installed and the plumber finishes and the backsplash is installed.
The sixth week consists of final inspections and completion of punch list items.

For our dumpster you can basically put anything into a dumpster as long as none of the objects exceed the height of the dumpster walls, isn’t toxic, flammable, or is hazardous waste.

Aerosol cans, hazardous and Infectious waste, appliances, home electronics and batteries, cleaning supplies and chemicals. Most of these items are recyclable.

We provide dumpster rentals for a very affordable price. Please see below for our tonnage, size and pricing details. All pricing is for customers within a 20-mile round-trip of Clinton, NJ (parts of Hunterdon, Somerset & Warren counties).

It depends on where you intend to place the dumpster. If you put it on your personal property (such as your driveway) then you likely won’t need a permit. However, if you choose to place the dumpster on the street, sidewalk, or other public property, then you will probably need to obtain a permit from your city.

Call us at 908-735-0056, and we can help determine if you will need a permit for your area. If the answer is yes, then you will need to contact your local public works or building department. They will request that you fill out an application to receive the permit. This application can usually be completed in person, over the phone, or online. Once the application has been submitted, you should be approved within 24 hours.

If you are planning to proceed with a renovation that will take more than a day, then we definitely recommend renting a dumpster from us, as opposed to hiring a junk removal company. Junk removal companies usually only make one trip to collect all of your debris, so if you’re doing a big demolition, you won’t have a place to store your debris until the removal company arrives. Renting one of our dumpsters will give you more time and flexibility to complete your demolition in the time frame that suits you.

Customers within a 20-mile roundtrip of Clinton, NJ can rent our dumpsters for a 7-day period.

Please do not place any materials that are toxic, flammable or electronic into a dumpster. If you’re not sure if your materials are hazardous, feel free to drop us a line.

When embarking on a kitchen or bath remodeling project, it can be difficult to predict what size dumpster you will need for your debris. These projects tend to produce a massive amount of debris that could easily exceed the limits of a small dumpster. To avoid overage charges, we recommend choosing a 30 or 40-yard dumpster for your demolition. However, if you’re taking on a smaller project—such as landscaping—then a 15 or 20-yard dumpster would probably be large enough to contain your debris.

When I finally got the nerve to renovate my tiny original 1950 kitchen and put an addition on my tiny house, I dreaded trying to find a contractor, particularly since I had hired a not so great architect to do the plans. I interviewed 3 contractors and Home Solutions immediately gave me a price of $70,000. I had a hard time getting a hold of one contractor who could never seem to give me a price and the other contractor started with a low estimate and kept changing it until he was the same price as Home Solutions. I went with Home Solutions because they did a friend's neighbor's house and Robin Brinkerhoff was a former student of mine. Robin was always a great student but she is fabulous as projector manager - pure gold. She made the whole experience so much less stressful for me. She helped me with the variance I needed to get from the town, She made sure the building inspections went smoothly. She told me when I needed to have appliances ordered. She told me how much space I needed between the refrigerator and the island counter. All the people working for Home Solutions were knowledgeable, courteous and thoughtful and they even had an architect available to fix something in the plans that my architect had screwed up. I am very satisfied with the work they did and it has been 5 years since the addition was finished and it still looks and feels greats. Since then I have also had them do my bathroom and the basement windows.

Home Solutions completed our bathroom renovation in 2014, which consisted of a complete renovation on our main bathroom and updates in our half bathroom. Working on two rooms can be challenging but Robyn and the team managed everything smoothly. They provided detailed weekly schedules so we always knew what was happening when. We worked with Home Solutions to completely remodel our kitchen (and essentially the entire first floor) in 2005. They helped us bring our vision of a more open space to reality by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, and partially removing another wall. They installed a granite, cooktop island with down draft and reconfigured the entire space so that it was much more open and user friendly. They installed beautiful custom cabinetry, granite countertops, tumbled travertine backsplash and stainless steel appliances. They leveled out the floor in the living room to correct a ridge in the floor caused by problems in the floor joists to insure proper installation of hardwood flooring throughout the first floor. They also replaced an old leaky sliding glass door in the den and installed tile flooring in the half bath. They were reliable and professional, using highly skilled, quality craftsman. They were proactive in communicating every detail of every phase of the work. We were so pleased with their work, we engaged them for two subsequent projects; a master bath upgrade in 2011 and the building of a deck in 2012. Not only were we delighted, so were our neighbors. 2 of them hired Home Solutions to do projects in their own homes.
