What can’t I put in a dumpster?

We ask that you don’t place anything that is toxic, flammable, or electronic into our dumpsters.

This includes things such as:

Aerosol cans
Aerosol cans contain toxic and flammable contents. Even if the can is empty, there will still be toxic chemicals inside the can.

Any kind of hazardous materials such as, but not limited to: infectious, industrial, medical, and radioactive wastes are not to be disposed of in our dumpsters. This also applies to asbestos, antifreeze, herbicides, pesticides, propane tanks, 20 & 50 gallon drums, tires, oil, used oil filters and oil absorbents, solvents oil and lead based paints, paint thinners, fluorescent bulbs and ballasts flammable liquids.

Appliances
We don’t accept any items that contain Freon (such as refrigerators and air conditioners). These appliances will have to be donated to a local appliance recycling service.

Home electronics and batteries
Anything that plugs in cannot be disposed of in our dumpsters. This applies to common household items, such as: televisions, computers (desktop, laptop, netbook and tablet computers), desktop printers (including those that scan, fax and/or copy), computer monitors, computer accessories (including keyboards, mice, speakers, external hard drives and flash drives), DVD players, VCRs and other video players (i.e. DVRs), fax machines, cell phones, and microwaves.
