Kitchen Remodel - Pittstown, NJ

Perfection.  That was the ultimate goal for this kitchen remodel in a quiet community in Pittstown New Jersey.  The owners wanted a space that was both functional and ornate, with high end appliances suitable for a master chef and a combination of rich material selections that would extend a warm welcome to visitors.  National Kitchen and Bath Association certified designer Robyn Brinkerhoff worked with the homeowners to make their vision a reality.  With almost 400 square feet available, Brinkerhoff had room for the large center island the owner’s had envisioned.  In order to fit a large central island in this kitchen, a large closet was removed and replaced by a counter depth refrigerator flanked by pantry cabinets with pull out trays.  The kitchen remodel features distressed light maple Yorktowne cabinetry with a bronze glaze that matches the oil rubbed bronze Moen Branford faucets located at the main sink and at the island's prep sink.  The bronze color can also be found in the island's hammered copper undermount prep sink and in the veining in the Fantastic White granite counters.  The main sink is a 30" white fire clay farm sink by Barclay, which is flanked by legs on each side that also can be found on the sides of the cookbook storage bookcase at the end of the island.  The island also features a Jenn-Air wine cooler which is located across from Jenn-Air double wall ovens and the commercial grade Wolf range.  The XO ventilation is disguised within a large wood hood which became a focal point for the kitchen.  The far end of the kitchen features more Yorktowne cabinetry in a distressed black finish at the desk area and an area for storing wine and displaying wine glasses.  Both areas of the kitchen are visually tied together by the use of a glass mosaic tile on the backsplash.
